School text book. 41 stories of English history ranging from the pre-Roman times of the Druids to King Canute, the Norman Invasion, William Caxton the first English printer, and on up through the Great Plague, the Great Fire of London, and concluding with the age of Queen Victoria.

Belonged to William Ambrose Haseltine, as a schoolboy, who graduated from Portland's Ladd School in June 1910 [He notes "Room 19 Ladd School" on the ffep]. He went on to become the proprietor of the J. E. Haseltine & Co. hardware business and in 1946 was elected to be the chairman of the Portland School Board.
