Laid in is the original purchase receipt from the author. Elver Barker (1920-2004) was a Newcastle (Wyoming) and Denver artist, teacher, and social change activist. He was an early officer of the Mattachine Society and was also active with the American Friends Service Committee. His studied oils and pastels under Arthur W. Palmer and Thomas Leighton in San Francisco.
