A book of verses of the woods, the garden, and the sky, and is dedicated to "all the little mortals who are still partly fairies." Many of them picture the fancies and joys of childhood. Laura Frances Gill (1884-1937) was the author of three books of poetry. She was the daughter of Portland businessman J. K. Gill and was educated at the University of Oregon and the University of California. Prior to her death, she had been a member of the Lincoln High School (Portland, Oregon) English department faculty for nineteen years.
