Jacob Calvin Cooper (1845-1937) was an Oregon pioneer, a Civil War veteran who had served with Company C of the 14th Missouri State Militia Cavalry. He and his wife Melzena were longtime residents of McMinnville, Oregon, having lived there for fifty years. The town of Zena, Oregon (now a ghost town) is named after Melzena and her sister/sister-in-law Arvazena Cooper.
