A little boy playing in the woods finds a hollow tree with a nest in it. Instead of birds, it is filled with fairies. He pockets a few of his new friends and they venture out towards Fairyland, sometimes traveling via a great white albatross named Jenny or in the boat from the Magic Bay.
Jean Ingelow (1820-1897) was an English poet and novelist. Dugald Stewart Walker (1883-1937) was an American illustrator.
