Light wear to head and foot of spine and corners; spine rubbed; front board has a vertical crease and shows some spotting. Pages generally clean. Ten illustrated plates including frontispiece with tissue guard. xxvii, 253, [1] pp. 7.5 x 5 inches.

Yei Theodora Ozaki (1871-1932) was an early 20th-century translator of Japanese short stories and fairy tales and the wife of Tokyo mayor Yukio Ozaki. She was born in England; her mother was English and her father was Japanese (he was one of the first Japanese to study in the West and resided in England between 1868 and 1873).
