Dr. Harriet Lovilla (Montgomery) Henderson (1852-1926) claimed in 1907 to be one of only three women in the United States in possession of the secrets of the Masons. Although uninitiated, she claimed that she had traveled the world and studied the ancient history of the order and its mysteries in many countries, including several years in Egypt.
The last couple pages describe the mission of The Woman's Order of Esoteric Masonry, to whom the book is dedicated. It was located at 1511 Reid Street in Los Angeles and was the only Incorporated School of Occult Science ever established exclusively for women.
