An account of the pioneer John Cuddy (1834-1899) who with his partner, Ed Tyne, settled in Idaho and opened their general store. They then established a mill business (flour and lumber) first in Boise and then in 1879 at Salubria in the Upper Weiser Valley. The regions' relations with the Nez Perce is described and the text provides many details about early pioneer families, settlement, life and work in the area.
The author, America "Mickey" Aitken (1908-2000), was born in Midvale, Idaho, and was a graduate of the University of Oregon.
