The China Pirates is a sea-going adventure about a young American who unwittingly gets himself involved in a pirate plot off the China coast. A suspenseful tale full of dramatic action, odd and sinister characters, a strong romantic element, and is imbued with the background atmosphere of the inscrutable East.
Kenneth M. Dodson (1907-1999) was born in Angola to missionary parents and grew up in Southern California. He worked for the U.S. Merchant Marine between 1925 and 1942 and served in the Navy between 1942 and 1947, primarily in the Central and South Pacific. His many years of seafaring experience provided an abundance of material for his maritime novels. He also had a well-known, longtime literary friendship with Carl Sandburg.
