Autobiography and historical remembrances of Oregon pioneer Abraham Ellison Garrison (1810-1890). He was born in Hamilton County, Ohio and died at Amity, in Yamhill County, Oregon. He was a pioneer of 1846 who had traveled the Oregon Trail, having taken the southern Applegate Trail route. He settled on a Donation Land Claim a couple miles west of Amity in Linn County and served the Willamette Valley area as a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Many activities of the early Methodist Church in Oregon are described. He also describes how he was also a part of the first organized fighting group of volunteers in the war with the Cayuse Indians following the massacre of the Whitmans. Two obituaries.
Includes some ancestral genealogical information (two earlier generations) and a list of several generations of his descendants: those that were born prior to the summer of 1943.
