Salamanca's second novel, set in a private mental hospital where Lilith, a schizophrenic, is a patient. In 1964, Lilith was made into a movie of the same name, directed by Robert Rossen and which starred Warren Beatty and Jean Seberg.
Jack Richard Salamanca (1922-2013) was an American author and professor of English and creative writing at the University of Maryland.
