Sorche Nic Leodhas was the pseudonym of American author LeClaire Gowans Alger (1898-1969). She was a teller of traditional Scottish tales and for her fine work received multiple honors, including the Caldecott Medal, a Newbery Honor, and the Lewis Carroll Shelf Award.
Leo Dillon (1933-2012) and Diane Dillon (b. 1933) were prolific American illustrators, known for their children's picture books and cover art for a variety of imaginative and fantasy literature. Extensively recognized for their work, among the many awards they've received are consecutive Caldecott Medals (1976 and 1977) and the 2008 World Fantasy Award for Life Achievement.
