Copy #2 (VG/no jacket). Boards show light soiling; spine faded. Previous owner's name in pencil on ffep. Interior is clean.

It is the story of the complexes, complications, and the barriers of misunderstanding within the marriage of Fanny and Michael Choyce, members of the literary and artistic world of London. Daphne Adeane, deceased prior to the start of the novel, and the memory of her, pervade and impact the lives of the characters. Set around the period of the First World War.
