There are a couple instances of irregularities in the page numbering, but the text is complete. Advertising at rear shows other titles by Frances Trego Montgomery, including the full Billy Whiskers series and the Billy Whiskers Game, as well as other Saalfield offerings.
Frances Trego Montgomery (1858-1925) was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and lived in Chicago most of her life. She was a well known author of children's books, most notably the Billy Whiskers series.
The artist, Nellie M. Pairpoint (1866-1934), was born in England and at the age of seven, immigrated to the United States with her parents. Her father, Thomas J. Pairpoint, was a prominent silver designer and the founder of Pairpoint Manufacturing in New Bedford, Massachusetts. In additional to her professional art she also taught drawing and painting and was a longtime resident of Providence, Rhode Island.
